Weekly Update

Good evening,

Students had a half day last Friday because teachers were finalizing grades and preparing report cards. This year, Lindbergh is e-mailing report cards to parents instead of printing paper copies. You will receive your child's report card by e-mail this week!   If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask Lynn Bilyeu or myself!

Here is what we are learning about this week:

Writing: Revising personal narratives (we are finishing up this unit by Halloween)
Reading: Summarizing/Inferring with fiction; identifying story elements, problem and solution
Spelling: Beginning new word sorts
Math: Chapter 6: Adding/Subtracting money, making change from $5.00, identifying coins/ bills
Science: Ecosystems

Important Reminders:
*This week is Red Ribbon Week. To celebrate, students are invited to participate in the following activities:

Red Ribbon Week:
October 21-Sock It To Drugs...wear crazy, unmatching socks.
October 22-Give Drugs The Slip Day...wear slippers to school
October 23-Put A Cap On Drugs...wear a hat.
October 24-Turn Your Back On Drugs...wear shirt backwards.
October 25– Red Day
Other Reminders:
***Since report cards are coming out this week, I will not be doing progress reports until after conferences.
If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you!
