Today our class was supposed to participate in Jump Rope for Heart and take a math test over Ch. 19! I am sure Coach Capizzi will make this up with them next week (on the next "C" day). We will take the math test tomorrow!
Important reminders:
- Please do not forget that PRISM projects are due by February 11th, 2014. Parent volunteers will be checking the projects before they are put on display in the gym the following week. If your child is missing a component of his or her project, they will be notified. If it is minor, I can let them fix it at school.
- Our class is currently collecting tab tops and Box tops! If you want those things out of your house, please send them in! :)
- All Scholastic book orders will be due by Friday, February 21st. You can order online using the class activation code L6X8J.
- On Wednesday, February 12 students will be dismissed at 1:40 P.M. Lunch will be served!
- Our Valentine's Day party will be Friday, February 14th! I will send a class list home with your child this week. Please make sure to have all treats/snacks checked with Nurse Klahs prior to party day. If you are interested in participating or would like to donate items, please contact Marcy Naeger (see e-mail I sent you with her contact information).
Here is what we are learning about this week:
Writing: Prompt writing/review of the friendly letter
Reading: writing constructed responses to comprehension questions, using evidence from the text to support our answers
Spelling: continue word sorts, tests for all groups will be next week.
Math: Test over Ch. 19 on Thursday, begin Ch. 20-22 (geometric solids)
Science: classifying objects/matter into categories based on their properties, identifying ways matter can change
