I hope you have enjoyed the warm weather this weekend. This week Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday March 14 from 4-8 P.M. I am now able to open up the sign-up sheet for others who would like a conference. If you were not originally contacted by me but would still like a conference, please e-mail me after signing up with a list of things you would like to discuss so I can be prepared in advance. Here is a quick look at what we will be working on this week:
Math: Measurement, temperature, fractions; 7s quiz will be Thursday
Spelling: Continue work with current word sorts
Social Studies: Government documents test will be on Friday, study guide will come home by Wed.
Reading: Figurative Language, Inferring with poetry
Writing: revisiting parts of speech, sentence structure, and grammar odds and ends; journal due Tuesday!
Miscellaneous:
*If you have not read the last blog posting about MAP testing, please scroll down and do so! It will be here before we know it!
*We have an 11:50 A.M. early dismissal (conference compensation day for teachers) this Friday, March 15. Lunch will not be served.
*We also will have an 11:50 A.M. early dismissal day next Friday, March 22 (records day for teachers). Lunch will also not be served this day.
* We will be taking both reading and math eValuate this week.
